Product

A documentation tool, not a drawing tool.

NoStep is built for occupational therapists and accessibility professionals who assess homes for modification. It keeps one structured case record: photos, source-tagged measurements, the resident's functional profile, and your professional judgment, all in one place.

From that single record it drafts the three documents every case needs. You review, correct, and sign. NoStep drafts and organizes; the professional decides.

The workflow

Open a case. Print three views.

  1. 01

    Open a case

Name, date, purpose, contacts, and the funding path if one is known. No patient identifiers.

  2. 02

    Record the functional profile

How the resident actually moves and transfers, what caregivers support, and the goals that matter. Initials only, no diagnoses.

  3. 03

    Measure the areas

Entrance, hallway, bathroom, or any custom area, each with labeled photos, measurements, and notes. Hold the phone still, freeze the picture, and tap each end of what you are measuring, or trace a room corner by corner to get its outline. No LiDAR, so it runs on the phone you already carry, and the camera image never leaves it. Every reading is computed on the device, carries a live tolerance, and is tagged as an estimate until you confirm it with a tape.

  4. 04

    Generate the packet

One click drafts all 15 sections of the case record, from the cover summary to the signoff block.

  5. 05

    Edit everything

Every section is plain text you can rewrite. Nothing is locked, nothing is final until you say so.

  6. 06

    Sign off

The signoff block records that you reviewed and corrected the packet. Your judgment is the product; NoStep is the paperwork.

  7. 07

    Print three views

The same reviewed record prints as a Family Plan, a Contractor Bid Packet, or a Funding Documentation Packet. Each view selects the sections its reader needs.

The engines

Facts from rules. Judgment drafted, never final.

Rules

The facts are deterministic

The cover summary, functional profile, photo list, measurement table, family next steps, funding checklist, verification warnings, and signoff block are assembled directly from what you entered, by fixed rules. There is no model in that path, so there is nothing to hallucinate.

AI draft · reviewed by you

The judgment is a draft

Four sections read like clinical writing: barriers, priorities, product requirements, and contractor scope. AI drafts these against hard rules: no invented numbers, no brands or prices, no compliance claims, hedged outcomes. Without an AI key, the rule engine writes them too. Either way they arrive as editable drafts for your review, and every measurement keeps its source label.

  • Cover & case summary
  • Functional profile
  • Barrier report
  • Modification priorities
  • Measurements
  • Product & category requirements
  • Family next steps & contractor questions
  • Verification warnings

  • Photo evidence summary
  • Measurements
  • Modification priorities
  • Product & category requirements
  • Contractor-ready scope
  • Bid response form
  • Standards & code references
  • Verification warnings
  • Professional review & signoff

Funding Documentation Packet

For the funding program: functional need, rationale, evidence, and the professional's signature.

  • Cover & case summary
  • Functional profile
  • Photo evidence summary
  • Measurements
  • Barrier report
  • Modification priorities
  • Product & category requirements
  • Contractor-ready scope
  • Draft letter of medical necessity
  • Standards & code references
  • Funding & documentation checklist
  • Verification warnings
  • Professional review & signoff

Source tags

A measurement never loses its origin.

Contractors bid against numbers, and funders approve against them. So every number in a NoStep packet carries one of five tags, and the packet lists everything still waiting on field verification.

  • FAMILY-REPORTED / UNVERIFIEDWhat the family told you. Useful for triage, never sufficient for ordering materials.
  • PHOTO ESTIMATE / UNVERIFIEDScaled off a known-size reference in the photo, on your device. Always flagged for field verification.
  • ROOM SCAN / UNVERIFIEDMeasured by tapping a frozen camera frame on your device, with its error bar attached. Always flagged for field verification.
  • PROFESSIONAL-MEASUREDYou put a tape on it. The packet says so.
  • CONTRACTOR-VERIFIEDConfirmed on site by the contractor before work.
  • NOT RECORDEDRecorded without a source. The packet flags it as missing information.

Real homes

Built for the houses people actually live in.

Porch steps, narrow doorways, tubs with high walls. NoStep documents the home as it is, so everyone works from the same picture of it.

Safety rails

What NoStep refuses to do.

  • It never infers a diagnosis or abilities beyond the functional profile you enter.
  • It never invents measurements. Photo and scan estimates are computed geometrically on your device, show the error bar they were taken with, and stay tagged unverified until a professional confirms them.
  • It never claims ADA, building-code, or funding-program compliance.
  • It never names brands, prices, or products for sale, and it does not match contractors.
  • Every packet carries a visible review status and a professional signoff block, and stays labeled a draft until the professional marks it reviewed.

Your data

Cases live in your browser.

This version stores cases in your browser's local storage. Your account unlocks the tool, but there is no server case database. Nothing leaves your machine except the text sent for AI drafting when you use it.

Use fictional or de-identified cases only: initials, no faces, no addresses. NoStep does not claim HIPAA compliance. You can export and import your case list as a file at any time.

Coming next

Capture the room once. Stop drawing and retyping it.

Capture-to-Scope Studio will combine room capture on a compatible iPhone or iPad, a short functional voice walkthrough, and the resident's equipment profile into an editable scaled accessibility plan plus the same three documents. Critical dimensions will remain field-verified, and it will not certify code compliance or replace professional judgment.

Draft your first packet tonight.

Your first case is free, no card required. NoStep is $50/month once it earns its place.
